Before judging immigrants... - Quote in pics

Before judging immigrants...

Description

We have found ourselves desperate to buy something as trivial as toilet paper, some of us fighting and putting ourselves and others in danger in order to buy it... next time, let's not be so quick to judge those who migrate on a boat in search of something much more important and basic for life.

Before we go back to judging
boat people, refugees
and desperate migrants,
let us remember
that we have fought
over toilet paper.

--

The comparison between judging migrants and those driven mad by rolls of toilet paper works because it reflects the fact that wealthier people (more than those fleeing gang violence, tyrannical dictatorships, famines, etc.) panic and despair for much less in terms of mortality rates (than people fleeing gang violence, tyrannical dictatorships, famines, etc.).
