IN ORDER TO LOVE OTHERS, FIRST YOU NEED TO LOVE YOURSELF

The most important relationship you will ever have is your relationship with yourself. You deserve to be treated with love and respect – that's why it's so important to start loving yourself before you can love others. But how do you do that? In this article, I'll share some tips on how to learn self-love and why it's so important for us all.

WHY IS IT SO HARD TO LOVE YOURSELF?

We are taught to be self-critical. We are taught that we’re not good enough. We are taught that if we fail, it will be the end of the world. And when we succeed, it feels too good to last.

We are taught to fear failure and fear success because they both expose our vulnerabilities and make us feel vulnerable; in a world where people love you for your flaws and hate you for your strengths, you may as well just accept yourself for who you are—and stop trying so hard!

IN ORDER TO LEARN TO LOVE OTHERS, I STARTED BY LOVING MYSELF

In order to love others, first you need to love yourself. It's simple but not easy. You can't give what you don't have, and if you feel like something is missing in your life, then it's impossible for another person to fill that void. In order for the relationship between you and another person to thrive--your own personal happiness needs to come first.

You need to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with others

IN ORDER TO LEARN TO LOVE OTHERS, I STARTED ACCEPTING THAT I AM THE WAY I AM

The first step toward learning to love others is accepting who you are. Accepting yourself doesn't mean that you have to be happy with the way things are, but it does mean that you're willing to look at your flaws and weaknesses as parts of your identity instead of weaknesses. The sooner we accept ourselves as we are, the more likely we'll be able to give others the same kind of acceptance.

There's nothing wrong with being cautious about letting others in; it simply means that you value yourself enough not to let people into your life without a good reason for doing so. But once you do allow people into your life and start caring about them (and vice versa), there's no going back—and while this may seem scary at first, remember: You can't love someone else until you learn how to love yourself first!

IN ORDER TO LEARN TO LOVE OTHERS, I STARTED TRUSTING MY OWN DECISIONS

In order to love others, you first need to love yourself. Your sense of self-worth should be based on your own decisions and personal values, not on what other people think or say about you. You can't possibly know what makes another person happy if they won't tell you what they want or need. If someone wants something from you, listen closely so that they can explain it themselves—don't make assumptions about their motivations or desires!

When it comes down to it, there is no one else who knows exactly what another person needs more than that person does themselves (except maybe a professional therapist). Don't let other people's opinions influence your self-esteem; instead trust your instincts and make decisions based on them alone!

LOVING YOURSELF HELPS OTHERS

When you love yourself, you are better able to give that same love to others. And when you don’t know how to do something, it is hard for you to teach it to someone else.

You can’t help others if you don’t know how to help yourself. If your life is full of stress and worry, or if your health is suffering, then what good are your words of comfort? What good are your wise words when they come from a broken spirit?

CONCLUSION

Loving yourself is not only important for improving your own life, but it’s also crucial if you want to be able to love others. Whether it’s by learning to trust yourself and make your own decisions, or just by accepting who you are as a person without trying too hard to change anything about yourself—doing these things will help you become more caring of others around them.
