GRASS WITHERS, FLOWERS FADE... NOTHING LASTS FOREVER.
We are called to remember that everything is transient. We are called to remember this because we so often forget it, getting caught up in the sandstorm of our own lives, forgetting our place in the cosmos. You see, grass withers and flowers fade; nothing lasts forever. In other words, we have a limited time on this earth. And when you realize that fact—when you realize that your life is a finite quantity—everything looks different: you begin to see people differently; situations change; even the meaning of your work changes.
BUT THE WORD OF OUR GOD WILL STAND FOREVER.
“But the word of our God will stand forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)
The word of our God is eternal. It is true and dependable, never failing or changing. The Bible says, “For I am confident about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another." (Romans 15:14)
