The magic of Christmas
is not in what we receive,
nor in the gifts we exchange,
but in the love of God
that we experience
with a special intensity
during these days
of joyful celebration.

Christmas is a time of peace,
of remembering that God loves us
so much that he gave us his only son,
and in spite of all which has happened,
he continues loving us,
he continues seeking us,
he continues inviting us to be with him,
to accept his love, to forgive one another,
to strive to be at peace,
to leave behind grudges,
and to love one another
just as we are, imperfect,
but loved by God.

Merry Christmas,
this is a special time,
amidst so many gifts,
amidst so much banality,
and amidst so many ornaments,
carols and noise,
let us remember
that all this springs from
the love of God for us...
He whom is celebrated this Christmas, Jesus,
is proof of God's love,
is the one who gave up his own life
and the one who forgave us
again and again
and still follows us,
even today,
trying to invite us to be with him.
